Hello everyone, My name is Sandy Mantova and I am a retired teacher. I am travelling around Australia in my Campervan with my 2 fur babies. I thought I would answer a few questions you may be wondering about. A bit Like a Q and A. 1. Why did you retire from teaching? Over the last few years I had developed some medical conditions that caused extreme pain, & affected my mobility. I found it difficult to maintain my duties as a teacher because of the conditions so for the sake of the children I was teaching I decided to retire so that could have a stable environment & teacher for the rest of the year. 2. Will these medical conditions affect your Tutoring? Over the last year or so, I have learnt, with the help of doctors and specialists to manage the pain and by tutoring online there is less mobility requirements. My conditions do not affect my mind, memory or the ability to teach. 3. How will you tutor online while travelling? When we travel, we always travel in the morning and arrive at our overnight destination by lunch time. Our stays can vary in length. As for the technology side of things; *Up to date Apple devices: Laptop, AirPods, Phone *I have Starlink which means I can connect to the internet from anywhere in Australia. *I have Solar panels on the roof and an extra solar blanket for charging the house batteries. *I have an Eco Flow Battery Bank which is charged daily as we drive and charged by solar when we are stopped. The Starlink modem will run solely from the Ecoflow Battery. *I have a 3000w Inverter if require. *If It is raining for a week an unable to charge using solar, we go to a donation site with power, a show grounds with power or last resort a caravan park. All of the above is how we normally travel. So, everything has already been tried and tested so I know I would be able to connect to students for tutoring without any problems.
