My Journey in Education

My education journey began 25 years ago when I volunteered in the Support-a-Reader program at my son's school. This led to a traineeship as a Teacher Aide, and as my son moved to high school, I followed—working in Learning Support and Special Needs while earning my Certificate III & IV in Education Support. Supporting my son with Dyslexia deepened my passion for learning, and at 16, his school encouraged me to expand my teaching horizons—so I applied to UNE.

In 2008, I completed a double degree (Bachelor Arts/ Bachelor Teaching) and began teaching High School Special Needs in North Queensland. While there, I earned a Postgraduate Degree in Special Needs, specializing in Autism and Intellectual Impairment.

After four years, I moved closer to family and transitioned to Primary Special Needs teaching in Brisbane, working across Kindy to Year 7 in various roles for 11 years.I took early retirement in 2023, but my passion for teaching never faded. While mobility remains a challenge, my mission remains the same: helping students build confidence, succeed, and enjoy learning—no matter where I am. That’s why I

launched my online education services, including tutoring, allowing me to continue making a difference while traveling.
